Along the way I will be blogging about how to care for horses so ..............
I guess I should introduce you to the 'stars' who will appear.
This is Ches - he is about 17.1hh is 20 years old and is retired but he still eats alot! He has been part of the family since he was 10 months old. He has a few quirks; he suffers from serious separation anxiety and has done for years and in the last year has developed claustrophobia which means he gets really upset if shut in his stable for long. He is very affectionate and loves attention.
Baz is the horse I ride, he is 13 years old, 16.1hh TB and ex-racehorse. I have had him for 7 years now. Unfortunately, he learnt to crib bite at his last home but I don't find this a serious problem. He is very sweet and gentle and usually fun to ride although he does have his moments!
Fidget is a little rescue pony, I don't know how old he is but think he is about 20 years old like Ches. He has been a part of the family since 1999. He has been branded and his ears have been cut, I think he has some Dartmoor in him. He was quite obviously badly treated and was very very nervous of everyone but especially men. Now he is the loveliest pony and I have made sure he has had a lovely life since.
